Kerstin Knopf, Munroe Eagles, and Nik Nanos speak at Hearing of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade

Upon invitation by the head of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Senator Dr. Peter Boehm, ICCS President Prof. Dr. Kerstin Knopf (U Bremen, Germany), former ICCS President Prof. Dr. Munroe Eagles (U Buffalo, USA), and leader of Advancing Canada Coalition Nik Nanos (nanos research) were speaking as witnesses on behalf of international Canadian Studies at the Senate Committee hearing on 27 April 2023. Together with John English (U of Waterloo), Daniel Béland (Director of the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada), and Pamela Sing (President of the Canadian Studies Network), who were witnesses in a second hearing the same day, they were explaining the potential, values, and effects of international Canadian Studies for Canadian cultural diplomacy and its Canadian global interests and calling for reinstatement of Canadian government funds for Canadian Studies around the world.
