The Governor General actively endorses the objectives of select organizations by formally granting them patronage, thereby providing them with the name and prestige of the viceregal office.
Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, serves as Viceregal patron of the International Council for Canadian Studies.
Her priorities include reconciliation; diversity and inclusion; youth and education; climate change and the protection of our natural world; and mental health and wellness, which the ICCS supports as well in its research, academic work, and networking activities.
